It happened to ECW and WCW when they were sold to Vince, it happened to CZW when it was sold to DJ Hyde, it happened to TNA when it became Impact, it happened to the NWA under successive waves of shitty leadership after the Crocketts left, it happened to FMW when Onita sold the company, and there are probably other examples out there that I'm forgetting. New ownership usually means that they will discard most of what the previous fans liked, resulting in the decline and possible death of the company.
