ECW, while great at times, was hot mostly hot garbage. Full of shitters doing spotfest matches, cutting "fed bad" promos, and botching left and right. All of the supposed legends to come from ECW all flew the coop as soon as they could, or were pigeonholed into awful hardcore wrestling.

I fully agree, most of the matches are shit but they created the greatest weekly television show that I’ve ever seen. Great music, hype packages, highlights, hot angles, Herman booking, and promo packages made ECW great.

Heyman had a LOT more to work with in terms of talent. Heyman had Sabu, RVD, Tazz, the Dudleys, Sandman, and TONS of other great talents. Cornette had to make do with brian lee and the dirty white boy, along with some occasional WWF guest stars. Cornette did a lot with a little while heyman failed despite being in a great position.

yeah ECW definitely reached a higher level of popularity than SMW ever did, but then heyman squandered it before selling out like a bitch. Now it's hard to even watch oldschool ECW in an uncensored form. He took some cool outlaw shit that people loved and gave it over to a corporate environment where it can never thrive. I don't think he had to fold ECW, if fucking TNA can continue to exist in some form, ECW could have at least survived to the present day.
