Sort of. What really got him in Jail was the exact same thing that got Rob Black locked up. Both of those dudes continually taunted and antagonized the US justice system. Max used to use his federal notoriety to sell movies. His website would have huge banners with shit like, "subscribe now before they lock me up for life!!". Rob Black straight called out John Ashcroft and dared him to prosecute on PBS television. There's been much worse, but max and Rob went the extra mile when it came to playing with fire.
