Iyo Sky (Io Shirai), known as the "Dark Lady" in the world's largest professional wrestling organisation, WWE, met for the first time with Shohei Ohtani of the US Major League Baseball team Angels.
On 28 (29), Iyo, along with fellow WWE members Bobby Lashley and Carmella, visited Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California, where the Angels-Dodgers open game was held. They observed pre-game practice and participated in the first pitch ceremony.
Backstage, he met Otani before the game. He had happened to sit next to him at a yakiniku restaurant in Tokyo, but this was the first time they had engaged in conversation.
'Are you from Japan?' Iyo was asked, explaining that he moved to the US in 2018, the same year as Otani, to work on the WWE stage. Iyo told this newspaper: 'It was a short time because it was before the match, but he was a person with a beautiful heart. You realised that he was wonderful in all aspects, mind and body. Carmella and Lashley were also excited, so I was reminded that he is a very well-known and influential player amongst our WWE Superstars," he said excitedly.
In her first appearance at the 1 and 2 April (2 and 3 April in Japan time) at the professional wrestling extravaganza, 'Lessonmania 39' (Inglewood, California), she will be competing in a six-woman tag team match with Bayley and Dakota Kai in the unit Damage CTRL, clashing with Becky Lynch & Lita & Trish Stratus. Confirmed.
