The extent to which a pro wrestler makes the in ring action seem "real." A great work rate wrestler makes marks believe the fighting is real, while allowing a greater suspension of disbelief in smarks. They execute moves smoothly and with impact and purpose while selling the opponents offense. A bad work rate wrestler, on the other hand, will be slow and sloppy and make it obvious that the moves are rehearsed and that it's all completely fake. It's the physical version of promo skills.
