they're already lying about their viewership, which is shrinking while the number of wrinklies grow and grow. it can't sustain its business with such a low presence in the 18-35 demographic.
the US had some pretty specific circumstances that enabled its path to face of the company. these circumstances are still ongoing - it's still the top migration destination for marks around the world, including young chinese marks who will be urgently needed in china.
there's other factors beyond the death spiral that is demographics: the chinese cultural product (film, tv, food, games, music, etc) will never be better than the US's cultural product. marks around the world are trained to emigrate to the US - that's how familiar we are to US culture. none of the marks know shit about china's product, none of the marks will ever have to.
