just to put things into perspective, bundesliga has a 0.9B a season broadcasting contract, MLS has a 260M a season broadcasting contract, MLB has a 1.4B a year broadcasting contract, Premier League has a 1.6B a year broadcasting contract
The sports scene as a whole just blew up I guess but WWE has lost a lot of places to being below spanish french and german football leagues.
doesn't mean it's dead but if the same numbers as 90s or 2000s were being replicated today the broadcasting deals would be astromical

The WWF in the late 90's early 2000's was a HUGE deal, everyone watched it. It was one of the most watched shows on TV back when everyone watched TV during that time.

The reason Austin turned heel was because Vince believed he was a bigger draw as a heel than Austin was as a face

I dunno what to tell you, im a casual, when i go to watch some wrestling im watching the older shit and McMahon is one of the best things about it.

Still takes me back, I was a kid watching The Rock taking on McMahon Helmsley faction would get my ass so amped I'd run laps around my house during the commercial breaks.

Kane is the only person i recall getting consistently fucked. It looks like it worked out fine for him. He didn't need to win very many matches to look tough.

The Shane shit was cringe(Always was, especially beating the big show) same with most of the HHH shit after Rocky left. But I don't think Vince was wrong to put himself on TV. The man is art.

Personally i think trying to replicate the other feds is WWE's biggest problem these days. the flippy shit, the spam superkicks and finishers.

WWE/F was always better doing its own thing and letting the others replicate it.

There was something more slow and deliberate about the 90's and early 00's style of wrestling, the fact that the dudes had to help eachother execute the moves was 20% less obvious, it looked like dudes trying to hurt eachother a little bit more often.

I just like my wrestling to be a little bit less ballet and a little more soap opera.
