This could in theory work but you'd be having heel vs. heel and turning Gunther face, indirectly or otherwise, is a bad idea.
I think this could only work if you have at least one guy out of Imperium and Bloodline who are tweener faces at the ready.

Sami and Cody were on fire and both lost. None of these guys have any momentum going for them, and have all previously been world champions. The big exciting Wrestlemania moment can't happen now, unless we sit through an entire year of Roman having a boring as fuck reign. There's no way this story will have nearly as satisfying a payoff as if they would've pulled the trigger last night or at EC, but go ahead and keep coping while I watch better promotions than WWE
