Not that I really give a fuck about Cody but this was his last real shot, he could win the rumble next year, cut the same promos, face Roman again, win and it won't mean anything because everyone will see it coming and it'll feel like a consolation prize.
WWE does not strike while the iron is hot, DiBiase, Piper, Owen Hart, Vader, Shamrock, Barrett, Wyatt, Nakamura, etc... all guys who the crowd was behind at one point or another and then they just fizzled out.
