He was on a losing streak and was saying in backstage comments that maybe he needs a change up. He also saw, Naito be the one to retire his mentor Muto. Then in the first round of the New Japan Cup he had a great match with Taichi, who basically brought a new fight out of him. So a few matches later he joined up with Just 4 Guys, to make Just 5 Guys. He wasn't hostile to the rest of LIJ, but he did tell Naito to get out of the ring after beating him

I've liked SANADA since linking up with Taichi but his absolute charisma void of a feud with Ibushi soured both of them to me.
