You have to put over a former AEW midcarder who returned to the company 365 days ago in the WrestleMania main event and end a 950 day world championship reign in the process. You just have to do that. It would have been an even better decision if they let a comedy midcarder end that reign on a C-tier PPV a month prior. Then the comedy midcarder vs. former AEW midcarder would have been the main event at the biggest show of the year. It's just good business.
