This was all the start of a long term worked shoot storyline where Punk and Omega would be given additional time off to heal and create a heated on screen feud between Punk, FTR, and The Elite leading up to Double or Nothing.
All Out was in Chicago, Punk's hometown. Punk going "off script" on Hangman was conveniently in Hangman's hometown.
Punk's legitimate injury delayed the storyline. There was never a real suspension, a real investigation, or legitimate legal action because it was all fake.
Punk is going to return tonight and help FTR win the tag team titles and reveal it wasn't BCC who attacked the Bucks, but the three of them. I guarantee you this is all going to come to light by the end of the night.
