Once again there is some big discussion as soon as I have to head off to bed. For what it's worth these are my opinions:

The only thing that makes sense to me is a proper three way dance. Jane beat Cassie Last Waifu Standing in what I thought was the end of their rivalry. Cassie doesn't deserve a singles match with Jane. If the consensus is that a three way dance is silly, then let's just move on.

I do believe that anyone can go for the title, but there should still be some sort of process to earn the title shot. Like I said, maybe challenging and beating Ava or Cassie will get you there. The Hardcore Title is to be defend more often/outside of PPVs, but it doesn't mean that every person that wants to challenge just get a title match because they asked. I may be in the minority on that.

If people want to make one, do it. I often feel like there already is one with the way some replies come in this thread. BUT just note that not everyone will want to join it, and so there can simply NEVER be discussion of PPV card or upcoming title matches etc. It would have to be strictly for planning angles away from this thread, and I don't believe that will be the case. That is my personal reason for not joining any other discussions. A Discord would only further segregate the threads into reactive RPing and rigid stories, and for my money the former is always going to be more fun.

People keep using Red/PK/Lillith/Nekkos as a good example of collaborative storytelling, and I take some pride in that despite clearly playing the smallest role. Someone said "we are RPing wrestlers, not bookers" and that is also my stance. I have been vocal about match records needing to mean more, and the common answer to that was "just RP around a loss" and so that's the route I've taken.

Cassie was the last contender standing in what was supposed to be an elimination match. She was inadvertently robbed by the stipulation beign different to what it was supposed to be and her and Jane picking up from where they should have continued from that point, in a singles match seems like a perfectly logical and reasonable outcome.
And if earlier matches are relevant, Jane's most recent loss came in a tag match against her and her sister anyway.

If it was (in storyline) meant to be an elimination match, then my opinion is that should be the next match. That also ties into my maths from the last thread >>9659370

Or we make it simple and have Ava and Cassie fight and the winner gets the title match, then we move on.

Not right now, no. It was just something I noticed some threads back. But it doesn't really matter in the end. If there has been some secret meeting room this whole time, then the threads are still running smoothly. And if there hasn't, then there's no issue.

There is just such frequent arguing in these threads. I would love to think it's all one person, but I don't know if it is anymore. And I just want these threads to continue forever.

I'll say this, so that there is some transparency. I have contact with a few people from here that help me with the sims, I record them all, but I lean on them for double checking that the recordings are alright and that the match quality is alright. Second opinions on how matches turned out, should we leave in this fuck finish or re-record it. That kinda stuff.

They're also on my ass when it's needed when something needs to be done, which is nice.

But at the end of the day this is for fun and some of this stuff can limit someone's fun , especially if they only have one character, and want to participate in something but feel as if they have to sit out everything until an upcoming match or event is done, I think that specific scenario is one we should try to avoid

I will say, I was under the impression that those who lost before the Rookie Cup would be eliminated for whatever reason. At least I recall that being mentioned as a stipulation with Sheila vs Little Beaver, I didn't think that was for a spot though, I just assumed it was an unwritten rule or something.

That didn't 100% influence my decision with Daimaou though. I think her potentially interfering with Shogun after a match or during the tournament would make for some solid story and make Daimaou look a bit more threatening.

If everyone's cool with a little suspension of disbelief after the bantz with Holly and Daimaou that Shogun can make it to the ring, I'd love to put her in Onigiri's corner since I was intending to have them potentially team at some point anyway. I worry that seems a bit silly after Shogun specifically refused Daimaou, but I think that can be explained by Shogun more willing to help someone in a match than fight a demonic heel who specifically wants to hurt her.

Again, I know I am the tard here, but that's why I wish some people (not necessarily you) would think about their character a bit more. They don't *have* to be anything, ie. a rookie. But if you chose to RP them as a rookie, there are by definition some things that won't make sense for that character.

Same for playing a veteran, or a tag specialist, or a hard-core only wrestler. Characters can be anything, but not everything.

Yeah I saw that too but never knew why, or agreed with it. I mean, this is a rookie cup, not some super elite top of the card event. Wrestlers that are just starting out are the most likely to lose matches.

Which is exactly why I thought they should be more careful about choosing what matches to accept.

I am still very adamant that wins and losses should have some effect in the storytelling. Promos come first, but no amount of promos could make someone with an 0-8 record over five days credible or worth fighting, in my characters' opinions.

Having *a loss* and even being on a losing streak is no issue at all. My opinion is that anyone with a scheduled match upcoming should treat that as their next match. I don't mean no being a manager ir even a cheeky backstage brawl, but if I have a match with Skelly, or Lillith, or Amy coming up and I accept a challenge and lose, I think it makes perfect sense for that winner to get the match instead.

There obvious limitations on a Rookie Cup, hence Sheila not taking Beavers spot. But had It been Beaver challenging Sola and Sola won, I'd say Sola has a strong case to enter in the tournament.

I'll answer that with a personal anecdote.

Back in the SmackDown vs Raw 2006 days, the only way to keep a rivalry going in GM Mode was to have the same two people interact every single week, and if they ever wrestled anyone else, the rivalry was ended. I think we can all agree that that sort of repetition is what nearly killed WWE over the last few years.

The difference with real life compared to that, is that X can be in a rivalry with Y, and the match can still be X vs Z. Maybe Y runs in after or cuts a promo etc. But the way wrestling (usually) works is that if X and Y are feuding, X will always beat Z, or only lose via interference, which keeps the heat on X and Y.

The key difference is that Cody/Solo was only ever going to end one way. I know Vince is cooked, but imagine is every single match was determined randomly.

I don't think we should strive to emulate real life wrestling since that is booked and will always have the *right* result for a particular scenario.
Our situation is quite different, and I think having fun should be the priority. So while I do think results need to matter, people shouldn't feel like they have to effectively put their characters on the shelf while waiting for upcoming matches especially when something gets scheduled for a PPV that's far out.
One way around this of course is multiple characters. But I have 3 and all of mine have upcoming commitments (only short term, but still) so even that isn't a guarantee

I for one don't think there's a discord and some anons are just really good at RPing and thinking on the fly. That said people are already using burner emails to plan stuff which I'm not opposed to, hell I'm not even opposed to a discord. The main issue is not planning angles or stories, the main issue is a situation where people away from the threads plan on who gets a "push" or not and only engaging those in the "secret club".

For example anons A, B and C are on discord but their waifus have nothing to do with each other outside of A being a champ and B being a challenger. Now if they were to book and plan to get C "over" and only respond or engage C after they win the title and ignores other anons challenging is where it gets fucky. Even if the story doesn't make sense C gets a shot or preference because they planned it that way.
