You guys are too young to do know this, but when RVD announced he was going to do a move at ECW Heatwave 2000 a lot of people thought it was going to be a double moonsault, a move if possible to do would be impossible to land.

There isn't really the capacity these days for individual wrestlers to be "draws" but he'd be over as fuck if he was in his prime today. Would make a shit ton of merch and sponsorship money especially now that weed is infinitely more accepted by the public

More like Rob Van Based. Rob did things only Rob could do. His style was so distinct and his offense was unique and definitive. Every time he hit the Five Star, it was as if he hurt himself more than his opponent, that's how impactful it was.

yeah ricochet can do some pretty amazing aerial moves, I'll give him some credit, but his shit doesn't look like fighting to me. RVD made it look much more believable. I mean, people don't usually get that acrobatic in a real fight, but there are certain legit fighting styles that use weird acrobatic moves so it can be believable if done right.

My favorite wrestler of all time. Truly one of a kind as the catchphrase says. He had the speed and agility of someone half his size, but was still built and big enough to seem believable against larger talent. While the Bucks are super kicking with chicken legs, he was roundhousing with absolute tree trunk legs. His flexibility and rag doll physics made him one of the best and most realistic sellers ever. And he had an innovative offense that still made sense and wasn’t just spots for the sake of spots. At a time when wrestling was getting stale for me, I saw him for the first time on the debut TNN WCW show vs Jerry Lynn and it completely reinvested me in the sport in what would become a true lifelong love. He was a joy to watch, even later on when it was obvious the Fed was having him put together matches to ensure he got all his signature shit in. His work during the Invasion angle is one of the only reasons to watch that stretch. His win at One Night Stand is an all time moment.

My all time favorite. I attended Unforgiven 2002 where Gaytch went over him to start the gay ass Evolution stable and I’ll never forget how the air completely came out of the building. Nobody even cared about the main event of undertaker versus Brock because RVD was the most over guy in the company and triple gay screwed him. Didn’t get that same feeling again until wrestlemania last Sunday, where the crowd completely deflated when Roman won.
