I clearly indicated that a memory of a gay man or transgender male-to-female abusing or harassing Rick when he was younger, would be a traumatic memory for him as a straight man and would explain his extreme reaction upon merely seeing a transgender
In no way is that suggesting that Rick is "secretly gay"
