my guess is a lot of the western guys are "homesick" after being stuck in japan through the pandemic, so AEW looks extra appealing to them right now since it lets them keep their gimmicks and style of wrestling instead of having to switch to some dumb Booger McGillicutty name and sports entertainment slop style wrestling
