I really didn’t understand why WWE would view him as this big get. He was the top gaijin in NJPW after The Elite left, meaning most Americans never saw any of his matches. There were a lot of AEW fans who pretended to be fans of him but really he reigned over the period where significant amounts of western fans dropped off of NJPW. It wasn’t the same as Devitt or Styles.
