Such a streak relies on a relatively weaker looking roster to make the wrestler look much better. See Jade.
It can work, but when all they defeat is jobbers, people won't care that much.
Eventually, it will run its course, because you can't bury everyone and not have them be world champion.

Jade knows how to work. Her opponents are all (deliberately) nobodies, so it doesn't matter whether they know how to work or not.
If there were women as good looking and competent as Jade to use, she would not have even had a streak as there would have been no need for it.

Absolutely, as long as it's someone credible. Like you couldn't give an undefeated streak to someone like Atom Small, because it would be just comical. But look at Roman, who hasn't been pinned in years, and no one questions it.

There'd need to be an era between the Monday Night Wars and the wrestler in question that's at least as relevant as the days of Hogan and Flair in order for it not to seem like they're mimicking the last time that wrestling was hot.
