Who even beats Roman at this point and satisfies people? Nobody is going to want to wait a fucking year and sit through the passion of the cody as he gets the shit beaten out of him the whole time, even if he thinks that's a good long term story with a payoff, people are going to give up on that fast. There's literally nobody else in this company that can do it, they might feed Gunther and Bobby to him but the only person story wise that would make sense is Jey and I really doubt they're going to do that

actually thats similar to how it was with dusty and the 4 horsemen. ric held the belt for years and they would constantly gang up on dusty. dusty did win the belt once for a week or two

not comparing roman to flair just mentioning the booking is similar and people loved that era of the 4 horsemen. flair NEVER lost the belt even though there were many hot challengers and dusty mainly feuded with them for years without winning or holding the title for any real length of time

It is definitely a similar story, and I'm sure that's what Cody wants. There is no doubt in my mind he was 100% okay with doing the job and saying 'we'll do this long term, like my dad, I didn't want to come back and win immediately anyway with minimum build since I got hurt in the middle of it' but the crowds were generally always pretty hot back in the day. D tier attitude era guys were over as fuck but nowadays everyone's just either so retarded that it doesn't matter what they book or miserable smarks and going long term on this is going to make the go away heat on face roman look like child's play

He didn't though, that's the issue. He started putting people over and getting his ass kicked but still came out and had 20 minute entrances. I don't blame smarks too much, they thought they had more power than they do.

except its already off to a bad start after brock not only turned on him for no apparent reason but then proceeded to beat on him for like 10 minutes while nobody came out to help cody. lol just awful. who could enjoy that? at least when the horsemen did that other wrestlers would almost immediately run out to help. plus nobody turned on dusty like that made cody seem like a chump. at least not in the beginning i know ron garvin and the road warriors did later on
