and the funny thing is, it isn't pop a rating. Actually, Baker has never had a million+ main event. Shida has (the highest woman segment in AEW history) and so have Hayter and Conti. Yet, AEW still pushes Baker and treats her like she is the be-all and end-all.

Getting dropped in thumbtacks and cutting your forehead with a razor blade doesn't cause serious back injuries. It's far more likely to be fatigue from regular wrestling bumps. Though in Britt's case this may just be something they're blowing out of proportion for the reality tv show; Britt's worked a laughably small number of matches compared to some of the other women, like Shida, who apparently don't have such major back issues.
