Austin/Hart springboarded two characters in wildly different directions than that which they entered, which makes it more a much more effective match from a narrative perspective. The quality of work was smarter, too, as they got the crowd more invested doing less than Omega/Okada did.
The only thing Omega/Okada had over it was workrate and high spots which are the dumb man's gambit.

No it didn't. Omega was a firm fan-favorite going in and coming out, that wasn't his true star-making performance, that was the G1 the prior year.
Okada remained largely the same but underwent a bit of an arc tied to the three Omega matches through the next year and a half.
