I still watch wrestling. I started during the pandemic and I only watch WWE. I was gonna stop if the tv got bad after Vince came back, but it's fine now. I'm actually thinking of adding NOAH to the rotation.

When I was a kid, 1995 WWF was just wretched and sort of embarrassing to watch. Stopped watching and missed the first part of the MNW. Got back into it during the second half of 1998.
Stopped watching again right after the death of WCW. I had become a WCW guy and thought that without "the war", WWF was much less interesting.
Picked up wrestling again around 2010. Enjoyed watching the rise of NXT and CM Punk, got into New Japan and even enjoyed RAW until it went to 3 hours. Lost interest gradually but Covid plus the broader cultural trends around 2020 just sort of killed my interest altogether. Checked out Mania this year and actually enjoyed it and started lurking here. I'm waffling on whether I want to start watching again or not.

Austin's heel turn in 2001 and his teaming with HHH, the nigger who, in kayfabe, had him run over and put on the shelf. I tried to watch again during the invasion, only for my jaw to drop when Austin (who was famously fired from WCW), joined WCW. I just... holy shit. That was some of the worst fucking booking I've ever seen. I tried one final time on the build-up to Vengence and was fucking delighted, Jericho, become the first ever undisputed champion... and then FUCKING CUNTER CAME BACK and I was done.

2012-2019 I only watched the random PPV here and there but I still read RAW/SD results and would occasionally watch highlights until around 2019

I realized wrestling wasn't for me anymore. I quit until Saudi buying WWE shitposting spread all the way to /v/ and even then I only watched Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber and Night 1 of WM. Last time I watched consistently watched weekly shows was during /asp/ RAM vs SD Live days

Still limped on until about when Benoit won the belt. (Smackdown was good at least some of the time.) Last straws for me in 2004 were when the JBL and Eugene shit started. I was out. Checked in once or twice after Cena won the belt and it just re-confirmed my choice to stay away.
I did watch TNA a bunch of times and thought it was a lot better in the 2000s, but I never went all in like I did as a kid in the 90s.

Yeah I try to make it a habit to watch the Rumble at least, which is always good fun.

I really hate the theater kid/spot fest style match that's popular in wrestling. One of the very last NXT matches I watched was an Adam Cole and Johnny Gargano match that was an exhausting 40 minutes of insane spot after insane spot and I was sort of annoyed to find out it was the highest rated match ever under the WWE umbrella (per Meltzer). I don't really want my wrestling matches to be 40 minute Greek tragedies. I'm basically saying my favorite wrestler now is WALTER.

Around '06 when the backlash was really starting to grow against WWE and the wrestling is fake meme was widespread, being a middle schooler and loving wrestling was a death sentence in those days and then, of course, The Incident happened.
I basically missed Punk's entire rise but caught most of his title reign when I started backup in early 2012 when Smarkamania was starting to run wild. Had phases as an ROH, TNA and NJPW mark but they never really lasted. Couldn't get into AEW for a good while until very recently

Didn’t watch from 2009 until 2019. In 2009 I was going into high school and wrestling seemed really fake and gay. In WWE there wasn’t even much epic BOOBA content like I remembered from a few years back, it was all just retarded shit like Big Dick Johnson and Boogeyma’am. I switched to mostly watching TNA for a year or two but by ‘09 they were in the gutter too. Just felt like a waste of time when I could be on Omegle showing my dick to girls or smoking weed out of a crushed mtn dew can.

I actually remember the episode of Raw where I said "I'm out". It was in 2002 (I think), the episode where Mr. Ass and Chuck Palumbo were getting married. I was already starting to lose interest with Austin and Rock gone. But I turned it on and heard JR said "and stay tuned for the marriage of Billy Gunn and Chuck Palumbo. I noped out immediately. I've tried to get back in it here and there over the last 10 years, but it's just boring and lame now.
