Why is "Smark" an insult in the wrestling fan community?

Wrestling is only profitable when the fans are marks and only safe/mainstream when the fans are smart.
Is a "smart mark" different from a "smark"? If so, what is different?

"smark" doesnt literally mean smart mark and hasnt done since the internet took off and the iwc really took shape in the early 2000s. everybody knew wrestling was fake in the late 90s. everybody was " smart". smart mark has just meant "wrestling hipster" since the early 2000s, and anybody who was around on message boards then knows that. when people say smark they are referring to insufferable hipster-types from wrestling forums

smark really means snobs with dunning-kruger syndrome.
its like people who are autistic about wine, beer, meat and music, except for fucking wrestling which makes it even worse. they usually have underlying mental illnesses that got them to this point
