Veteran joshi wrestler Moeka Haruhi(38) has announced she will be going into hiatus to donate her kidney to her sister, who is suffering from kidney failure. Once she heals she said she will return to the ring.
>I will be absent for a while to undergo surgery to become a living donor for my sister's kidney transplant.
>I can be a donor only because I am healthy. I would like to thank my family for giving me a strong body, my seniors, classmates, and juniors who trained me to endure intense competition, my colleagues who worked with me, and my fans who supported me. I am filled with gratitude to everyone who has been involved in my life.
>I hope to make everything that happens in my life, both in the path I have taken so far and in the future. I would be grateful if you could watch over me. I will definitely come back and fight with more energy than ever before.
The surgery is scheduled for late June. Her last appearance before the surgery will be 6/3 at Ganbare Pro Wrestling.
Haruhi is an 18 year veteran who trained in K-Dojo before starting her career in Emi Sakura's Gatokunyan promotion.
She left pro wrestling for over a year to study media broadcasting before returning as a member of the WAVE roster for a decade before moving to Ganbare Pro.
She also hosts her own late night radio program for Japanese radio station KNACK5.
She joked that it always made her nervous to check the organ donation box on her driver's license, now she plans to just write DONE over the checkbox.
