I think he just got to a comfy place, realized he could be "a good hand", and have the stability to support a family.

You have to remember that he was friends with Brock when Brock was taking so many pills and drinking so much that he can't remember 2003-2004. That probably taught him something.

Brock was also terrible. Hell, he's probably worse since he constantly sounds like he just hit puberty. They gave him one of the greatest mic workers in the industry to cover for this.
They gave Shelton an emasculating sassy fat black woman and essentially made him a comedy act.

Shelton has no charisma. Brock can't talk either, but he has a natural charisma just from how he looks, how he moves, his facial expressions, and his aura.

Brock honestly isn't a bad promo if you give him bullet points that he can mostly freestyle and be himself around, and don't make him talk for more than 2 minutes tops per segment
But Shelton isn't good even under those conditions. Every time I can ever remember him talking during a show he sounded scripted and not real at all

Fucking ridiculous. They have made world champions out of completely intelligible motherfuckers, the present face of the company was a complete shitter on the mic for a whole 5 or 6 years while on top.
He could’ve been given someone who hyped up his sheer speed and athleticism and let his aura build over time. Shelton should’ve been to agility what Brock is to power.
Basically Seff but with a legitimate athletic background.

Why? He's solid in the ring, but not spectacular. He's likable enough, but not especially charismatic or good on the mic. He's a solid midcarder, nothing more.
