Though I do think the feud between him and Edge might have led to Edge vs Christian eventually if Edge hadn't had to retire. Christian was part of that program and he was helping Edge out against Del Rio. I could see them having Christian cost Edge the title when Del Rio won it (either inadvertently or by turning heel) to start a feud between the former tag team partners. Though in the end thanks to Edge's retirement Christian ended up winning it (even if not for long), so I guess that turned out well for him.
