It has nothing to do with the soldiers well being, in the long run having to feed, house, clothe and take care of a human both during service and when they leave service far outweighs the upfront cost of having a robot that can run faster for longer, jump higher, doesnt eat, doesnt sleep, doesnt need medical, no bad PR when Private Joe gets drafted and gets his legs blown off, or a GI bill etcetera
If they get these things down to 1-200k a unit (which is not only possible but probably already been done considering this is what they're willing to show us) then they will simply replace grunt soldiers and people will only be used in specialist roles, and you're an absolute fool if you think otherwise.
