Buff Bagwell was never bad by any means. Highly underrated, in fact. His only problem was that there was nothing to make him stand out and there were a lot more stars back then.

Bagwell developed the attitude that he was a top guy because he went to the gym with the top guys in WCW. Even though he was solidly midcard he was politically connected enough that he could shit talk people and walk on guys who were roughly his equal in terms of talent or card placement.

Bagwell was a solid upper midcard guy, good look, good gimmick, good worker, decent promo but he was not bringing anything to the table that would balance out his shit attitude. There were plenty of other guys who had everything he did (or more) that did not have that problem. When the only rival company dies and suddenly twice as many wrestlers as there are spots to be on TV it's not the time to try and flex nuts.. Especially because Bagwell was doing literally the exact thing that everyone who left WCW said was killing the place.

Nobody said this, only the midcard was mentioned, retard. He absolutely could have been a solid midcard worker. He was legitimately funny and he stood out. Think back to the garbage that was in the midcard in that era. He was better than a lot of the crop in basically every way.
