From what I've been told is that he finds a way to do his signature moves that play off of how he had done them in a previous match. Which as far as I can see has been a part of wrestling since at least the 90s. Which probably isn't even in the top 10 things that make a wrestling match work.

If you were on Twitter when it first started blowing up you'll remember the Bucks were mildly popular on there and seen as this underrated tag team who were wasted by TNA. They used this momentum to court Dave into thinking they were friends. They'd name moves after him and frame copies of the observer if he gave them 5 stars. Eventually Kenny got his push and decided to play along too. That's really all there is to it. Dave got worked and started overrating them massively. Smarks accepted this I guess since both TNA and ROH were not really viable at that point and they needed a new hero.
