Not only every chad and normal person is outside having sex on Saturday Night, but it's also the slot time where most of sports are always on so the rest of the people chilling at home will be watching real sports too.

If TK actually pulls a brand split that's not obviously just a short-term gimmick, I may just stop watching AEW completely. I already rarely bother to watch Rampage even though I usually DVR it. I was originally hyped for a Saturday show, but not if it's a separate brand from the rest of the week. Already disappointed that it's going to be 8 p.m. rather than 6.

If half of the roster stops showing up on Wednesdays because the deal is that they can choose to work with either Punk or the Elite but not both, then the whole promotion is clearly an unsalvageable dumpster fire. And if only a few people go with Punk, then the Saturday show will be DOA. Either way, calling AEW "TNA 2.0" will start to look like a serious injustice to TNA.

The plan isn't just to let Punk and his loyalists though.

Someone claiming to be an insider was saying that Tony's moving the entire tag division and possibly the AEW International title (due to them wanting Orange Cassidy pushed to the forefront more).

Any tag team that refuses to be part of Team Punk will be broken up and that there was talk about Discovery also wanting Dark/Elevation killed as one of the chief conditions of the Saturday show happening, creating a situation where talent won't have those places to go to and effectively FORCE talent to be either Team Punk or Team Elite; a decision that will have no real winners since (according to the leaker) everyone's afraid of picking the wrong side and being blackballed if the side they pick loses.

Imagine if the Punk show had like one big name who went over other than him, solely to be the #2, and a PPV event midcarder woman to hold the woman's belt for that show. And then the rest were just DARK and Elevation stuck scrubs looking for the limelight who bit the bullet and worked with Punk in order to get onto TV, so all the first matches sucked, but then because Tony is a money mark and Punk is famous, they kept funding the show and it turned into like an AEW NXT, and actually became kino with all of these nobodies upping the ante now that they're on TV and developing cool gimmicks and storylines without anyone really going wild because they still have to ass-kiss Punk.
It could be kino.
I doubt it will happen though.
