Wrestling Books Thread

Post recommendations, reviews etc. Here’s some short thoughts on the ones I own. A lot of these I haven’t read in years so I may be getting some of the details wrong.

Bret Hart’s autobio
>Probably my favorite wrestling book. Bret kept meticulous notes about his career and goes into all his major matches in detail. Even the childhood section of his book is pretty fascinating. He’s also very open about his vices, namely his adulterous womanizing. He comes off as bragging. He also wrote this books when he was on the outs with well…pretty much everyone so he buries family members and other wrestlers left and right. It’s a very good read and the only wrestling book I think I’d ever recommend to a non wrestling fan.

Jericho’s books
>I have only read the first three of these. His first book is excellent, going through his early life to his WWF debut. He has some very funny anecdotes and his narrative has a clear beginning, middle and end. His second book is still good but far less interesting. Aside from some speed bumps in his early WWF career, he’s pretty much made it at this point so there’s less to root for -it’s more of a series of anecdotes. There’s some also weird stuff in here where he toys with the idea that Benoit was possessed with a demon. He also publicly forgives the guy who paralyzed his mother (wouldn’t it mean more to do that privately?). His third book is more of the same and I don’t remember a ton about it.
