Indie wrestling is the reason it all sticks. Indie wrestling is cargo cult wrestling. It's full of marks who imitate the wrestling they saw in their youth but they don't understand the underlying theory behind it. They wrestle this imitation of wrestling in front of small crowds of nerds who get it even less. It becomes a feedback loop.

All of that is downstream from the destruction of the territory system.
