I doubt Mercedes is gonna live there full time, and she will be largely shielded from the BS because she isn't working for a traditional Japanese company in an office environment, she can essentially play the gaijin card indefinitely because of her appearance, and she has a handler that can smooth over any potentially awkward social interactions.
Most of the shitty parts of living in Japan relate to having to work for Japanese companies, not looking or being East Asian, and having to deal with mundane things like registering at the local ward office everytime you move. She doesn't have any of these problems because she's famous, has a handler, and works for carnies.
