Celebrities and politicians are pissy about Elon nuking the blue checkmark, because not only was it a starbelly sneek type vanity mark, but mainly because being verified/a blue checkmark had the unstated bonus feature that allowed a person with a blue checkmark to create a libtard bubble around themselves where they can only fucking see other Twitter posts/replies from other blue checkmarks; and given how Twitter weaponized getting the blue checkmark (you had to be a left of Stalin politically to get one or be a rich liberal nobody who could pay off the books someone at Twitter a couple of grand for one), you could defacto block the prols and other poor fags or anyone you disagree with from ever being seen on Twitter, creating a safety space bubble to dwell in where you never get called out on your shit.
Needless to say, the loss of the blue checkmark (plus it being something ANYONE could buy) means that the elite now have to see what the rabble REALLY thinks of them.
