He was pretty over in 99 but as a midcarder. No one ever bought him as a top guy, which is part of the reason why wcw was failing and why TNA never picked up steam. But he was a really good worker in the technical sense, in the way a session musician might be more skilled than a pop star, but had neither the looks or charisma.

As a semi-kid during 1996-2000 ish when they brought him into WWF with Cornette as an IC title contender I legit thought he was the shit because they portrayed him as that. They really blew it going nowhere with that IMO.

family was in the business so he has connections. only came to the wwe after the smaller territories dried up. was just a mid carder. sure he won the title in wcw but at the very end and they giving the belts to everybody see david arquette. if he didnt start tna his career would have been over when wcw folded
