He knew exactly what it took to get over and hardly ever did anything unnecessarily. Not many moves in the ring but more than enough backstage. Every wrestler respects Hulk Hogan because they know if they could have been in his spot they would have taken it, if they could give their career up and take his career spot for spot, they'd do it. He's iiconic, a part of americana and a part of world pop culture. He's the face of wrestling and a true household name.

A simple way to put it would be that he is the greatest of all time.

I enjoy his 80s work a lot. And removed from the should have could have that is WCW's booking there are some gems from the Hollywood era.
I've seen all the cool movez they don't impress me anymore, and I've seen enough bad "technical" wrestlers to understand that's a kayfabe category and not an actual measure of talent. Hogan sells well, comes back with a lot of fire and does everything he needs to connect with the audience.
If a great Ric Flair or Misawa match is like making love to my beautiful plus size latina wife. Then a great Hogan match is like eating an entire slice of cheesecake in my car after a long day in the office. One might be a more respectful use of my time, but they both flood my brain with serotonin.
That said Hogan is an n-word sayer and that is very bad.
