He'd be out of business without his connections to the TV networks. In the 80's, his main advantage was the fact that he was on national TV and most of the territories were on local TV. The old jim crockett NWA stuff was just as good as the WWF, but their reach was much more limited. WCW was sabotaged by their own network, right before they sold WCW to McMahon. Coincidence? Doubtful. ECW had their network deal sabotaged by Vince, and that's one of the main reasons they went under. I don't know about TNA but they definitely tried it with MLW recently because MLW took them to court over it. Again and again vince has won because of his good relations with the TV networks. When it comes to content and creativity, he was never the best.
