Cody will lose to Lesnar and lose the WHC match. They're trying to do Cena's bad year, but properly. Cena beating Lesnar at extreme rules really hurt the storyline that he "wasn't good enough." They're probably going to put Cody through utter tribulation before finally beating Roman at wrestlemania 40.

The blow off was losing, the moral of the story was "The story never ends." Now that Raw is the Cody show, he has a new story which is carrying and supporting the red brand. Kek. Maybe that's what Vince and Paul are telling Cody for now. "just a few more losses and then you can beat Roman and finish the story". The reality is this is their latest and greatest rib on Dusty and his whole family. Cody will be in the midcard dressed in a full stardust outfit probably still thinking if he just gets his head down and performs he will get his title shot. It probably wont even be until the day of WM40 when he arrives at the arena and sees the posters for Rock vs Reigns that he realises it was all a big rib and that he's only in the Andre memorial battle royal
Vince laughs and can finally die happy. His greatest ever rib completed
