On top of that, It's a genuinely a good manga and anime for western eyes too. While it has some of those "le funny face" panels and comedy, it takes itself seriously, the core of the story is the emotional package of people and tragedies that make people demons or heroes without going convoluted as fuck. There's only like 30 actually notable people in the entire story and the final battle chapters are tight as fuck and easy to follow even when its having its flashbacks.
Unlike for example My Hero Academia which is fucking cluster fuck of 240 people who each get a fucking episode during the final battle and its still going.
