“Let’s open the chest.”
The sharp, reinforced scalpel plunged into the Rangdan’s chest. Pangea grip’s tightened, then pulled the blade down and into a Y shape. The tough skin needed a steady pull from the mechanical arms, once open, Pangea and Amar examined each organ. Pangea nudged, pulled, and eventually cut out the organ after studying them, following Amar’s instruction more than doing the examination on her own.
“So, how are you feeling, daughter?”
Pangea looked across from the Rangdan corpse. “I’m fine… Why do you ask?”
A sickening plop popped as a tweezer pulled a circular organ. “To see if you’re feeling well. Are you?”
She glared. “I’m fine.”
“Are you sure? I—”
The table rattled as Pangea slammed her fists on the autopsy table. “I said I’m fine! It’s not like I’m mad that Father chose to rob me of my legion, my retinue, and the glory of hunting down the Rangdan, the xeno race I found first!”
“I see.” Amar said. “Pangea, the Great Crusade does not reward missions to those who found an enemy first, only those who are fit.”
“And I’m not fit enough?”
“I did not say that.”
Amar set her scalpel down and powered down the mechanical arms.]
“That’ll be all for today, get some rest.”
After the autopsy, Pangea…

If they reconvened at another time, Pangea knew nothing would change. An initial plan must be made, though it might be changed having a basic outline always eased the process of strategizing. With Angron’s assistance, Pangea kept Lion from remarking true but scathing remarks and Leman from outright pummeling Lion’s face. “I wonder if Father did this on purpose…” Pangea and Angron walked side by side in the halls of Invincible Reason. “I doubt Father chose us for the sake of creating friction.” Angron said. “But we do have friction in an expedition that may well be the most important expedition there is.” Pangea said. “But they are effective, individually that is.” Angron said. “The best we can do is split into teams of two.” Pangea shook her head. “I’m only a support element, Angron. My retinue is here but my sons— I mean my nephews, are not here. You, Lion, and Leman will be enough.” Angron rubbed his chin. “While I’m confident three expeditionary forces are enough, it is troubling to have Leman and Lion together.” “Should I speak to uncle?” “No, Advex Mors is too important to delay.” Angron said. “We will do what we can. I will contact you after the warp jump.” Pangea returned to The Hydra, after taking a seat in her throne at the command center, the warp jump began. Pangea rested her head on her hand propped up by her elbow resting on the armrest. The navigator did her job well as usual. Pangea yawned. The jump would take a while but her presence in the command center was always necessary. She shut her eyes tightly. A dull headache pulsed. “Mnn…” The pain sharpened, a familiar sensation, one that she hoped to never go through again. “Inquisitor?” Simos said. “Get me an astropath.” Pangea said. “And medicae…” Gone was her young and unprotected mind. The mind fortress she built over the years of training and facing adversity withstood the vision. There, she saw two brothers fighting, one planet submerged in toxic clouds and another from a more civilized world. Scythe and sword clashed, one brother in pale armor and another in… >A golden armor and red cloak, wielding a curved sword, moving like a furious tempest. >A blue armor, wielding a sword cloaked in flames, in a future wrought with decay and war…

A blue armor, wielding a sword cloaked in flames, in a future wrought with decay and war… The visions of her Father, entombed on the Golden Throne, spoke to her brothers. A clean city was undersigned, led by her brother corrupted to chaos. Pangea strengthened her mind, focusing as the visions continued. “Inquisitor?” Simos said. “Are you truly well?” Beside Simos were the medicare staff and the astropath. After a brief check up, she ordered the astropath to send a message after the warp jump ended. Until then, Pangea held on, witnessing the decaying Imperium in the fortieth millennium. No matter how many times, the visions of the future haunted her. A low thoom echoed. Advex Mors soon came into view. “No naval blockade, interesting…” Pangea rubbed her lips in ponderance. “This is a mining world after all, but they had to know the dynasty fell.” The fleet of the primarchs arrived. “No incoming fighters.” The operator said. “They’ll come, sooner or later.” Pangea said. “Continue vigilance. All guns be prepared.” The bridge vox crackled. “We go in as planned then.” Leman said. “Indeed we do.” Angron said. “Beginning life scan.” Pangea waited, her hand gripped the armrest tightly. “Bio scans detected no life.” Angron said. “They could be hiding underground.” Pangea said. “It does not matter if they are. They have no aerial defence. We decimate the planet at a safe distance.”>"Lion, wait. We can send a scouting party to confirm it." >"This is a bit disappointing..." Pangea sighed. "Better a hollow victory than a loss." >Write-in.

"Lion, wait. We can send a scouting party to confirm it." “There is no need.” “At the very least we should—” “You are here as support, not as a commander. Know your place, Pangea.” Lion said. The torpedoes launched from the flagships. Fire bathed Advex-Mors, and Pangea watched with her fists clenched. All the knowledge or even new specimens, gone. The enemy world being attacked made sense, a thorough bombardment would weaken any ground forces before a planetary invasion. The plan unfolded as such, and Pangea watched from the bridge. “I don’t like this one bit.” Pangea said. “I get that it’s better to bombard than to investigate, but I don’t like it one bit.” “However, the invasion is going rather smoothly.” Hector said. “They are.” Pangea sighed. “Not that there is any resis—” “Enemy vessels approaching!” A fleet of Rangdan vessels arrived through a giant purple ring that materialized in the void. Behind the ships were the spiny cords like the images Pangea extracted from the Rangda. Her ship however was but one, with no supporting fleet with few fighters. “Battlestations!”>“Raise the shield and engage all guns! “Raise the shields and put all power in retreating behind the main fleet! Get my brothers in line!” Pangea’s mind converged, the past and the future melded. The courses of the Rangdan ships came into view. Pangea ripped the vox from the operator’s hand and informed the flagships of their next move. Fighters zipped throughout the void, clashing against the Rangda’s wingless fighters. Pangea watched from her throne, anxious and itching for a battle. “This is going rather well.” Pangea said. “Lion knows what he’s doing.” “But he lacks consideration.” Hector said. “He knew your purpose was to research yet we were not allowed to investigate.” “Well, our main goal is to eliminate the Rangda and there are other opportunities as well.” Explosions bloomed in the void. Bright traces from torpedoes and guns painted the dark space. The combined might of the flagships and the Navis Imperialis held off. Lion, Leman, and Angron commanded on their own with Lion as their leader until… “We can end it once we teleport or breach them.” Leman said. “This is a vessel we have no knowledge of.” Lion said. “We will proceed as planned and not waste lives.” “I agree, we do not know the toughness of their armor.” Angron said. “What about you, sister? Can you divine if their armor can be pierced with breaching ships?” Leman said. “No, I can predict where they can move but even then the future may change. I can’t use divination to test thor durability. Divination has its limits.” Pangea said. “We are on their territory, a decisive action must be made or we will be pushed back. We don’t know if there will be reinforcements.” Leman said. A question sprouted in her head. How did they know Advex Mors was being invaded? Why did they return to an abandoned world?>“They returned to an abandoned world for a reason, I will investigate and search within the ruins. There must be something that survived.” >“I can’t test their durability but… I can project my soul and see the interior of their ships.” [Psy Roll] >Write-in

“I can’t test their durability but… I can project my soul and see the interior of their ships.” “Do that, maybe we’ll find some weakness in it.” After the call, Pangea retreated to her office. In silence, Pangea blocked out the sounds and laid on the floor. Mind and body, what was one became two. Pangea opened her eyes and saw her own body on the floor. The weightlessness enveloped her soul, and with that, Pangea exited The Hydra and sailed into the void. “Let’s see what I can do…” Pangea soared through the void. Up until the very threshold of the Imperial Navy line, a psychic shell protected each ships. Pangea floated up close, and shot a bolt to test its durability. Her eyes widened as bolts of various strengthened were repelled. The shell’s size was impressive, but the essence of the shell disturbed her. Something terrible powered the shells, a great hivemind that formed into a single being akin to a giant powersource on a small machine. With no gap within the shells, Pangea returned to her body and exited her office. Simos, who waited at the entrance of her office, scanned Pangea. “Are you well, Inquisitor?” “I am well, but it seems that I have failed…” Pangea pinched the bridge of her nose. “No matter, this is not a complete failure.” The battle continued. Lion’s new strategy chipped away the Rangdan naval forces. While the main fleet slowly retreated, Angron and Leman faked a pincer for the fighters hiding behind Lion’s flagship to attack. “Hold on, why are some ships being sent down there and why are they forming a barricade?” “Call Quimby, we’re going to Advex Mors before the barricade is set!” “Inquisitor, is that wise?” “My ship can handle it, and I can form a barrier to weave past unless we go now…”>“Call Quimby, we move immediately.” >“No, hold on that command. I’ll move with my brothers.” >Write-in And that'll be it for this thread, thank you all for playing!
