You are Ben Parker, super-powered criminal and thief extraordinaire. After being bitten by a radioactive spider, you underwent a miraculous change, and adopted the identity of "The Huntsman"! But it's not all bad! Your clone brother, Abel Parker, works to protect the city, and potentially help clean up some of your messes. He goes by the name of "Spider-Man"! And co-parented by them both is Cindy Moon--half-fox demon, part-time prophetic monster slayer and a local vigilante endorsed by the moon god Khonshu!
Archive:
https://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive.html?tags=Max%20Spider%20Quest Last time: After retaking the city, Cindy and company marched an army of monsters to Varnae's doorstep and challenged him to single combat! Despite the legends surrounding him, he got thoroughly trounced! In his desperation, Varnae cast away his pride, as well as his immortal soul! As it turned out, he had been secretly planning to possess the TRUE ruler of Limbo this entire time. Except, it wasn't Belasco, but a blonde kid with a giant sword!
Using every trick and resource at her disposal, Cindy avoided seriously injuring the girl, and fought her way to Varnae's castle. There, she and the Blood Witch lured him into a devil's trap, where Shaggy used his powerful magic charms to eject Varnae's soul from the host, and placed it in a home-crafted artifact used to entrap spirits.
They weren't able to rest for long, though, because Ben and Belasco’s fight made its way down to Cindy's level! Together, the two of them briefly fought the demon, but his defenses were too strong for them to even wound him! Thankfully, Khonshu informed you that he had called for backup. And that backup came in the form of Ammit, the devourer of souls! But that wasn't even the craziest part! Because she brought Cindy’s previously deceased friend, B Negative, along for the ride!
After Ammit swallowed Belasco whole, Cindy ran over to embrace her dear friend. But the revelations didn't end there!
Harpy and James came out to meet the group, dragging Dr. Hank McCoy (A.K.A. Beast from the X-Men) along with them! He not only surrendered and admitted to his complicity in this event, but he also offered them what might be the cure for mutants!?
No one really knew what to make of that, but Cindy at least managed to prevent Mina from killing him outright, forestalling Ammit's judgement in favor of allowing the Kaiju King to make the decision. Only, when they got back, the Kaiju King was on the brink of death from overstraining himself during the zombie invasion!
Thinking fast, Cindy picked out a small team to dive back into the battlefield and find Louise. It should have been an impossible task, but, for some reason, Cindy received help from a pair of spirit messengers that belonged to a mysterious Kumiho.

“There, you got what you wanted. Now let my friends go and gimme my stuff back.” you demanded with a scowl, letting go of her hand. Mercy was coiling in anticipation, but you could also feel a slight hesitation in her movements. Khonshu had told you both to look after and protect this fox. He wouldn't appreciate you disobeying him after a deal had been struck between the two. Ami Han sat up, shrugged her shoulders, and snapped her fingers. Both your sword and the portal projector appeared on the table in front of you. Mercy’s bandages shot out to snatch the sword off the table and returned it to your waiting hand. It was currently sheathed, which is probably how Ami Han was able to cast an illusion on it in the first place. Ami Han's eyes widened, and she seemed to be watching you more intently now. “No need to be touchy. I was always going to give them back.” “Uh-huh.” you said flatly, replacing the sword at your hip with one hand, while the other grabbed the portal projector. You weren’t entirely sure of all of its functions, but you saw Ben use this thing enough times to know how to open a portal. Ami Han watched and waited while you set it up in the living room, and flipped the switch to open a portal directly in the middle of the room. Not even several seconds later, the Desperados came storming out, weapons at the ready, and raring to fight. Ben held a pair of pistols in his hands, and those blood tendrils were still sticking out of his back. Flint's left hand was formed into a hammer, while the other was a mace. Ana had brandished a knife that she looked very intent on using, if push came to shove. And last, but not least, Ember, their newest recruit, was hovering in the air with four golden wings made of hardlight, and an unfamiliar looking hi-tech rifle with a wide triangular barrel. Their eyes scanned the room for danger, found you and Ami Han, and they looked ready to pounce on her then and there. You stepped out of the kitchen and held a hand up to stop them. “Hold on! She's under Khonshu's protection.” Ben holstered his guns and made a b-line for Ami Han. “I don't care how religious she is, Cindy. She closed the portal on-” Suddenly, Ben froze in place, and his eyes went wide. You grinned at him. “Cindy…you look-” “Normal? Human?” “You look like yourself.” he said, closing the distance between you and reaching for your arm. He squeezed it a bit. “Is this real?” “I think so.” you said, leaning in to accept a quick half hug, while remaining mindful of the blood tendrils. “Ami Han enchanted me to look like…me.” Both you and Ben turned to stare at her. She gave you a friendly wave. —--- (Cont.)

“I've gotta know, how'd you do it?” you asked, unable to hide your curiosity. “My spider sense didn't tingle. Not even once.” Ami Han put a hand up to her mouth and chuckled. You felt like you've heard that laugh somewhere before. “‘Spider sense’? Is that what you call your danger sense? What an adorable name.” Anastasia, knife still in-hand, circled around to flank the white fox. The way she seemed to loom over Ami Han left no room for doubt as to whether she trusted the trickster demon. “You knew about it beforehand.” she surmised. “I did some digging. Some people seem to believe that you have eyes in the back of your head.” Ami Han explained, seemingly not bothered at all by Ana’s proximity to her. Her vulpine eyes were still on you. “If that were true, I'd need to put lenses in the back of my mask too.” you joked. “Why don't ya ask Shock here ta make it for ya?” Flint put in, leaning his head towards Ember. “You're always bringing back a new suit every other week.” “I could make it for you,” Ember offered. “So long as you don't mind looking stupid.” “Oh, he's never needed help looking-” “When the hell did you two become such good friends?” you cut in. “You never answered his question earlier.” Ana pointed out, forcefully dragging the conversation back on track. “Yeah. How'd you do it?” Cindy insisted. Ami Han took another slow sip of her tea, and panned her gaze around the room. “I made two assumptions. One, was that you were unable to accurately predict what it was that triggered your danger sense. And the other was that it behaved differently from traditional precognition. Otherwise, you would have anticipated this meeting taking place.” she explained, setting the cup down after a while. “And I thought to myself, ‘what if one were to mask their intent by hiding behind another?’. Would you be able to distinguish one from the other?” Your eyes widened slightly as you began to unravel what it was that she was implying. If she had acted during your fight with Rajang, and somehow carefully timed her movements to fit within a narrow window of opportunity, would that have been enough to trick your spider sense? You honestly didn't know. “And then, I considered a third thing!” Ami Han went on excitedly, her accent growing a little thicker. “If I mean no harm, then the danger sense has no reason to go off.” She clapped her hands decisively, pretending as if that explanation was a sufficient one. “Or you just used your bargaining chip to get your foot in the door.” Cindy suggested. “Who can say for sure?” Ami Han said with a slight shrug and a carefree look on her face. “Actually, I was more concerned by how you kidnapped Cindy.” you added with a raised finger. Ami Han's brows furrowed.

All I did was bewitch her a little and suggest that she take a teensy step back.” “And you did it without any of us noticing.” Ana said, pressing the issue. “Oh, that? You were all paying so much attention to the fight that it was easy for me to work my magic. A few masked footsteps, a carefully placed decoy, a light projection that gives off a similar light to your portal remaining within the corner of your eye…” She waved her hand in a dramatic flourish. “And by the time you notice something is wrong, it is already too late.” Ana’s shadow deepened, but her prey was sitting comfortably inside of it. “Except, we caught you.” Flint took a step closer, and Ember hesitantly followed after. “I surrendered willingly.” Ami Han corrected, looking mildly offended. “I did it for Khonshu's protection, and the protection of the Moons.” “‘Moons’? Last I checked, we only had one.” you cut in, narrowing your eyes in suspicion. “Has bird beak been holding out on us?” Cindy winced slightly, and you made a mental note to tone down the Khonshu criticism for the time being. “She's…talking about my parents.” Cindy clarified. You looked between both women with an incredulous look that you were sure they could infer, if not see outright through your mask. “You…want the protection of the people whose daughter's life you endangered.” you said, slow enough so that you could make sure the words that were coming out of your mouth matched your short-time memory. Ami Han's mouth quivered slightly, and, for the first time during this conversation, she looked uncomfortable. You watched her squirm in her seat as she gave you a somewhat shameful nod. And you just threw your head back and laughed. —-- Ten minutes later, you were still laughing. Cindy had explained what it was that brought Ami Han here, what she offered Khonshu to obtain his protection, and the reason why he wasn't available for questioning at this very moment. It all seemed a little too convenient to you. And by the look on Ana and Flint's faces, they were of the same opinion. Both were eying Ami Han like she was a piece of meat when they thought she wasn't looking, but for entirely different reasons. Keep those eyes in your head, Sandy. Cindy was on edge around her too, but from the way she spoke while telling the story, you got the impression that she was somewhat torn on the matter. And Ember just kept staring at her tails. It looked like it was up to you to make sure Cindy wasn't in over her head. (Cont.)

>>6334940 >”So what makes you think you actually have a chance convincing Cindy’s parents not to kill you?” This ought to be worth laughing over some more.
>”Am I the only one here that thinks we'd be better off getting someone to remove Cindy’s tails? If Tamamo wants them, she can have them.” Also worth a laugh when Cindy says she was thinking the same. I don’t even think Ben needs to take it seriously to suggest this since it’s still a good way of getting under Ami Han’s skin for more info on why she thinks this is her best bet.
>”You should’ve come to me about this first. I’m currently her legal guardian. Before you start worrying about appeasing an Egyptian bird god, you should worry more about what I think of all this.” And what I think is that being sorry isn’t the first, second, third, or fourth reason she’s doing this. If it was anywhere in the actual realm of consideration and not an easily-crushed afterthought then she may have considered leading with an apology and asking for the favor anyway.
Cindy’s still got family, friends, and a god in spite of what Ami Han was involved with, so it’s not like Ami couldn’t bury the hatchet if she were straightforward. It’d be rough, but Cindy’s a good kid like that.
>”I’m deferring the advance fee for my services until your situation is resolved. No, you don’t get to decline. Payment plans are only for repeat clients, too.” I’m not willing to be greedy with someone putting Cindy in an uncomfortable position, but I can compromise like this if needed. Make it that we’re charging her out of spite for how she went about this than out of greed, and this gives her time to figure out a good payment so we don’t have to hunt her down later out of principle. It’s not like we need an excuse to get Ana to join a hunting expedition either.

Cindy had to cut a deal to affect our release but we aren't under any such pressure. If anything I would ask for a bribe just to throw it in her face and see how many cards she has up her sleeve.

“So, what makes you think you actually have a chance of convincing Cindy’s parents not to kill you?” you asked, when you finally got a chance to breathe. To her credit, Ami Han only looked mildly peeved on the outside. You wondered how she really felt, and if Abe would have an easier time seeing through the trickster’s lies. “I think,” she began carefully. “Once I have a chance to impress the importance of my willing cooperation…” You rolled your eyes at her. This ought to be good. “They will eventually understand that my insight will be invaluable in repelling Tamamo no Mae.” she continued. You started laughing again, and there was a noticeable pout forming on Ami Han’s face. “Yeah…good luck with that.” you sighed, wiping an imaginary tear from your eye. “Why don’t we call up Thor or Herc, or something?” Flint proposed. “More gods on our side should even the odds.” “Thor’s still out of town. I’ll be sure to ask next time I see him.” you said. “Any other local gods we know about?” “Khonshu told me that the Black Panther acts as Bast’s Champion. I don’t suppose we could ask him to fly all the way from Wakanda to help us out?” Cindy said hopefully. Well that wasn’t going to work. You didn’t think the King of Wakanda would take too kindly to you carrying out a plan to steal his vibranium. Ember’s head perked up suddenly. “Wait. You guys seriously have the Black Panther’s number?” “Not yet.” you said with a wink. “Stick around, and that might change.” Ana shook her head. “Doubtful. The King of Wakanda is often seen as reclusive by nature. His nation borders on isolationism, even after his people reached out to the United Nations.” Ami Han giggled, and everyone turned to look at her. “Ehehe~. You would have a Panther fight one of the most powerful yokai in existence?” “I wouldn’t take him lightly if I were you. He used to be an Avenger, you know.” you said. Flint nodded his agreement. “Be that as it may, we will need more than just one Avenger.” she replied. You let out a mocking laugh. “What’s this ‘we’ nonsense?” Ami Han’s smile slipped, and you took great pleasure in seeing that. “You should’ve come to me about this first.” you went on. “I’m currently her legal guardian. You leaned forward, not so much looming over the fox like Ana was, but making damn certain that there was no mistaking whose house she had broken into. “I think this is all bullshit.” you said plainly. Ami Han's ears drooped a bit, but she never glanced away from your face. “Why should we believe anything you say, when you've got such a long history of lying and deceiving others?” “You want proof? I don't have it, okay?” she said, leaning forward to match your intensity. “There isn't a single signature or reference that I can give you to make you believe me. Tamamo won't give you any warning before she comes here, and–believe me-” “I don't.” you cut in. “Clearly.” Ami Han added in a flat tone. “But you have to realize that this fox isn't nearly so reasonable as she or I.” She pointed a claw at Cindy. “Not what I'd use to describe someone who just held me and everyone here hostage and negotiated about it over a cup of tea.” you said. “If it were Tama, she might have plucked your legs off for a laugh. Ami Han's ears drooped, and her tails twitched. You weren’t an expert on demon social cues, but you at least thought that meant she was a little agitated. “I don’t know!” Ami Han shouted, shooting up from her chair. Ana’s grip tightened on her knife, Flint's fists hardened into tightly packed sand, and Ember looked ready to gather more power and drive up your electric bill. Cindy didn't move, however. She was just watching the fox carefully. Hopefully her god-given ghost mummy could protect her from whatever Ami Han was plotting. The White Fox took all this in surprisingly quickly, slowly lowering herself back into her seat. “What do you mean you ‘don't know’?” Cindy asked. Ami Han shifted uncomfortably. “She…hasn't exactly laid it all out for me in person, but I imagine she's saving that for when I've been captured, tortured and have had my tails torn from my body.” she said, her eyes growing increasingly distant as she went on. “Well, let's run down the list.” you proposed, pulling a chair towards you with a webline. “What have you done to piss her off lately?” While Ami Han thought, you spun the chair around and sat down on it backwards. “I…stole a peach from her tree several centuries ago, on a dare.” she admitted with a shrug. “Mm. And did that really seem worth it at the time?” “Not really. I'm not even the one who ate it. I gave it to a friend of mine. Not one of my brightest ideas, in hindsight.” “Poison?” Ana presumed. Ami Han shook her head.

Ami Han's ears twitched, and she turned to stare at the girl. Ember froze for a second, and she looked about to back down, but her spine remained surprisingly straight under the fox demon's scrutinizing eye. “I'm…just saying,” she went on, haltingly. “What did you expect when you plucked a fruit from the witch's garden?” “I don't know, I thought it'd be delicious, or something.” Ami Han replied, sounding more than a little exasperated. “The boy hadn't eaten in days. So, rather than let him waste away, I told him where I could find the biggest, tastiest peaches in all the land, and I snuck in to get him one.” She scoffed and shook her head. “Fat lot of good that did.” she muttered. “Other than that, the only thing that I can think of is the time I rejected her invitation to join her Kitsune cult–I mean, court.” Everyone perked up at that, you included. “I hope you had better manners when you rejected her offer.” Cindy said. “She was lucky to get a reply at all.” Ami Han sneered. “I made my stance on the matter clear when last we met. I value my freedom, and there is nothing that she can say to change my mind.” The fox demon folded her arms in defiance, and your phone buzzed a moment later. You pulled it out to check your messages, and found a new one from Black Cat, as well as a multiple missed calls from Angela. You decided to address Black Cat's message first. It said: “Caught your little birdie. She needed to make a quick stop to grab a bite to eat. I'm handling the cleanup.” The message had an attached image of Harpy sitting in a barn, chomping down on what you thought was a mutilated cow, censored only by a smattering of stickers and emojis. Oh boy. You didn't expect Harpy to take you seriously on that cow comment. What will you do?>”Excuse me, I should probably deal with this.” (Return Angela's calls.) >”Why don’t you just accept her stupid invitation and save us all some trouble?” >”If you're expecting us to fight your battles for you, then the least you could do is let us know what she can do. What sort of magic does she even use?” >"Alright, then we'll wait to hear back from Khonshu. Until then, sit tight." >”Well, I for one am tired of waiting for people to attack us. Missed the last vote, sorry. Holidays have me beat.
>>6340226 >”Ami, mind explaining that ‘court’ thing to Cindy while I take this? If Tamano wanted you to join then I’ll bet Cindy is going to get a recruitment flier with a very special mission attached to it soon.” If Cindy objects, Ben can point out that Cindy’s a perfect champion for her. She’s a human that she doesn’t need to feel threatened by while also being a nine-tailed kitsune (once Ami Han is dead) she can bless or use as a potent mouthpiece on Earth. Cindy is already serving Khonshu, but that’s not going to stop her from a few attempts with her or Khonshu?
I’d like an idea of how long we could play them along with considering it if Cindy gets found before they figure out we’re sheltering Ami Han.
>”Excuse me, I should probably deal with this.” (Return Angela's calls.) The multiple missed calls from Angela seem important though. White Tiger, right? We’re certainly not her first, second, or third choice to call for a favor.
… I wonder if this was something Cindy’s mom was hoping for? She does like using gods as a means to her ends.

Becoming the champion of the most powerful kitsune would defintely spice up Cindy's life. Ben is allowed to make similar such deals, if he doesn't mind being tied down by duty and obligation.
Also, in a way, White Tiger might be considered a champion herself! Oh, and here's the Discord server link!:

Everyone turned and watched as you walked towards the bathroom, pulled out your phone and returned Angela's call. Before you even had a chance to close the door behind you, she picked up the phone. “Hey, Ang. Long time no-” “When exactly were you gonna tell me that you recruited my aunt to your little mercenary team?” she insisted. “Uhhhh-” “The thirteen year old kid!” “You're gonna have to be more specific.” Angela scoffed. “Are there more than these two!?” “These two”? Was she talking about the Thief Girls? “Hold on. There are only two kids that I've recently taken under my wing, and neither of them are old enough to be your aunt.” you replied. Angela let out a dry laugh, a bit of heat creeping into her voice. “Normally, that'd be the case. But, guess what? Turns out my uncle had a little sister that he never told me about, and she's been living in Las Vegas this whole time.” You paused, thought about it for a moment, and imagined both girls standing side by side with Angela. And only one of them bore any kind of resemblance to her. Then, it finally hit you. “Benga's your aunt!?” That must mean that Angela's grandma's been getting busy in her old age. You shuddered at the thought. “Her government name is Ava Ayala. Her friend was trickier to pin down, but I managed to pull up a file for an ‘Anya Corazon’.” You heard someone cursing in Spanish in the background, and you assumed that the newly named Anya wasn't too happy about having her government name spoken over an unsecure line. At least now you had something other than a codename to refer to them as. “Wait, how did you even find out about them?” you asked. “Because they broke into my apartment last night trying to hack into my FBI database!” Angie exclaimed. “Ava spilled the beans when I caught her. Did they find anything juicy on there?” >”Hold on. I'm heading over to pick them up.” >”I didn't tell them to break into your home, if that's what you're thinking. I thought they knew better than to pick a fight with a superhero.” >”Sounds like a happy family reunion to me.” >”Could you put them on the phone?” >”If it makes you feel any better, they were entrusted to me by their previous guardian, and this is only their first mission. Way out in Westchester County, there lies a land once thought by many to have been cursed. Legends like that often come and go, but there was something truly unique and baffling about this particular property. Take its history for example. In the 15th Century, and likely long before, local indigenous tribes regarded this land warily, as it had once been used by a cannibalistic cult. In the 17th Century, a holding cell was built to hold one Cortland Kasady, a settler who had been driven insane by a cannibalistic cult. He had apparently managed to escape, and went home to kill his wife, Molly Ravencroft. 19th Century. Monster sightings shoot up exponentially. A giant tentacle monster, the Headless Horseman…even aliens and werewolves. It became a paranormal hotspot. By the end of the century, a “Dr. Jonas Ravencroft”, descendent of Molly Ravencroft, founded a maximum-security psychiatric facility on this land. The same land where his ancestor's blood had been spilled. Construction was slow-going, due to persistent protest from the locals, as well as threats of physical violence by self-proclaimed “devil worshippers”, but it was finished nonetheless. From that point on, though, Jonas Ravencroft's Institute continued to receive some of the most unusual patients in the country. There was a man claiming to be a forty-thousand year-old caveman. Another claimed to be a long-dead Arthurian Knight of legend. Things took a much darker turn during World War 2, when the U.S. government commandeered the facility for unknown purposes. Not much is known about what transpired behind closed doors, but, if newspapers and old records from back then are to be believed, it somehow required the intervention of Captain America and Bucky, and ultimately resulted in the suicide of Jonas Ravencroft. Fast forward to now, where ownership of the Institute has been assigned to Dr. Ashley Kafka. To this day, the Ravencroft Institute maintains its reputation for accepting the occasional…unusually “troubled” patient. Dr. Kafka truly believes that those with unusual abilities can be cured of their delusions. She tries to convince me that my powers are a delusion, as well. She tries oh so very hard… But I know something that she doesn't know. It's a secret that I'm not supposed to tell anyone. But…I guess I can tell you. Not like you can tell anyone. —-- You stare down at a crouched female patient placing her hand over the mouth of a pacified Ravencroft guard. A black, inky material oozed from her flesh, and slowly began infiltrating every orifice in his face. The guard panics, and begins to shake violently. You feel as if you were about to witness something truly gruesome, when a turqoise tendril latches on her hand and forcefully wrenches it away from the guard's face. The guard takes in a large gulp of air, before breaking into a violent coughing fit. (Cont.)

The woman glares up angrily at a tall, skinny young man with long, shaggy hair and pale skin peering down at her from the guard tower's ceiling . He was breathing heavily. “We don't need to kill him.” he warned, his wavering voice betraying his crippling anxiety. “He was going to wake the entire prison.” the woman hissed, running a hand through her short purple hair. “Besides, I wasn't gonna kill him. Just make him pass out.” “Doesn't matter. We need to move, now.” demanded a voice from below. A moment later, a stout, muscular black man climbed up into the tower with surprising ease. All three were wearing scrubs. The young woman gasped. “They're onto us?” “I think so.” the newcomer said, running a hand over his bald head. And, with suitably dramatic timing, alarms started to blare, and numerous spotlights began to illuminate the night. “Shit!” the tall man exclaimed, his eyes darting from side to side. “Let's go!” the woman demanded. Then, in an uncanny display of athleticism, she jumped out the window, grabbed the lip of the roof, and deftly flipped herself onto it! The other two performed similar feats with relative ease. Neither looked like they were remotely trained or suitably fit to do so. All three placed their hands flat against the surface, and angled their bodies so that they were aimed over the castle gates. Multicolored ooze poured from their flesh and formed a solid layer over it, as well as a mass of slime pooling around their feet. Strangely enough, the slime pulsed, and tensed, as it were a muscle or a living- All at once, the three jumped, and the ground beneath them exploded! Whatever this substance was, it was clearly augmenting their physical capabilities. Several lights shone their way as the solid layers of slime formed two membranes under their arms, acting as makeshift wingsuits. “Almost there!” the stout man shouted, before a bullet grazed his shoulder. He cursed, and the others swerved out of the way just in time to avoid being shot out of the sky. They were close to the gate, but there were more guns on them now! Guards poured out from either side of the gate and opened fire. Somehow, miraculously, all three made it over, and they started to celebrate! Too early, as it turned out. A stray bullet pierced the tall man's heart, and his face turned into one of shock. Both the stout man and woman cried out, a pair of tendrils emerging from both their backs and attaching themselves to the injured escapee. Several more rounds pierced his flesh, and at this point, his dead weight was dragging the other two down. They weren't going to make it! Then, something in the distance shifted. All of a sudden, the injured man regained his strength and tore himself away from the two! He plummeted to the ground and tumbled along the turf. Ravencroft's guards weren't very far behind. (Cont.)

But, as they started to surround him, his body seized up. His spine lifted and bent at an unnatural angle, and he gasped desperately. His eyes glazed over and appeared to be milky white. Then, he twisted his head to the side, and a sharp crack was the last sound he would ever hear. The poor man was dead. This was the end of his story. But the other two…you feared that their's was only just beginning. And somehow, the one that guided these two to safety–the one whose moves seemed beyond even your sight–remained as elusive as it had ever been. It existed as a void within the grand tapestry of the future. You sometimes caught wind of it, like a breeze through a crack in the window. Most concerning was the feeling that whatever you were looking for, it was looking right back. You tried moving closer to the long, darkness that both escapees fled towards, but you were stopped by a feeling of unease. The ground below you shifted, and you turned up to find a sky full of Ravencroft inmates, all of them leaping from the highest places they could find, with one strong thought running through their minds as they plummeted. “I…am Spider-Man. I…am chosen.” No webs flew from their wrists. No wings caught the wind below them and carried them to safety. No. They all plummeted to their collective doom. And somewhere nearby, something unknowable to your senses, grinned. White teeth flashed, and with a powerful chomp, It was at that very moment, that Cassandra Webb woke up in a cold sweat, feeling more scared than she had since she lost her eyesight. And that's all for now! It feels so weird writing this now. It somehow feels improper. Like I should've made a grand event of it and made a new thread called “Maximum Spider Finale” or something. I've been writing on this site for some time now, and some of you have even watched me grow throughout the years. This quest started out as an experimental one-shot that I was doing after taking a needed break from Ben 10 Quest, only to have a new MC by the name of Ben through no intervention on my part. The success that it was met with inspired me to keep going, and I got to write out this crazy story of a thieving rascal making a name for himself in the Marvel Universe. I'm not sure what I was expecting from this quest or its protagonist, but I have to say that I'm pleasantly surprised with the way that he’s been interacting with my MASSIVE cast of characters.Promise I’ll start narrowing down my scope of characters. To all my readers–to anyone who's ever dropped in here to read an update, drop a vote, or even the odd message–thank you all for supporting me all this time. I cannot thank you enough for encouraging my progress and growth throughout these years. It means more to me than you know. I brag about this quest to my friends, my family, and my life partner. They'll even engage me about it sometimes, because they know that it brings me joy. Whenever someone asks what I write, I'm never shy about mentioning this quest. This journey that we've built together, the choices we've made. I can't tell you how many times I check in here a day, just to see if there are any new and interesting votes rolling in. And I hope to continue this story until it can reach a satisfying conclusion. To all my voters, you guys made all this possible. There is no quest without you. Thank you for sticking with me, even during arcs that you weren't particularly fond of. Any progress that I made is because of you. To all those who are returning, or seeing this quest for the first time, I hope you will choose to follow me, and this story, for as long as it continues. I value all my players and readers, and I hope to see you again in the future! To all those who may choose to depart, rather than joining the community, I thank you for following me this far. No matter what you decide, I appreciate the time, attention and engagement that you've devoted to the quest. Every single one of you, those that advertised this quest in the QTG, and those that may have shared my story with others outside of 4chan, I'm extremely grateful for your support. And, I hope, this won't be goodbye forever. Someday in the future, I may return to this site, with a new quest, and new ideas. Maybe even some new readers! I still plan on sticking around to read the QTG every now and again, so I'll still be here, lurking. If you ever see me, and feel the urge to call me out, I'd love to talk to you guys again! (Cont.)

And, if there were any words that I could leave you with, it would be that I hope you could all be like Ben! You don't need to be perfect. You don't even need to be a moral bastion. Just find someone that you love, and something that you love. Do what you can to protect those things. Do what you can to better your own lives, and lend a hand to those who rely on you. You may not be a superhero, but you can be someone else's personal hero. You can save lives and stand up for what you believe in, just like Spider-Man. I know it sounds cheesy and played out, but I believe these things with my whole soul. I plan on posting this message in the QTG as well, but I can still stick around to chat before this thread falls off! If you've got something to say, now's as good a time as any.
