>>6326959Well, it is a hard question. We are not exactly psychohistorians after all.
First and foremost, the biggest hurdle is all of the potential fork scenarios which need to have already happened. Being in the year 2029, we would already, my biggest questions would be:
1: Is Trump still alive and running the country?
2:Have Egypt and Ethiopia already committed to killing one another over the construction of the GERD?
3:What happened with the Ukraine war?
4:is Xi Jinping still in charge of the CCP?
Many potential events could bloom out from each of these question's answers. For now, i will mention my thought-wise likeliest case, although i would love to hear reasoning for other cases.
Firstly
My expectation in relation to America is that while Trump talked a lot about a third term, he would pivot towards supporting one of his sons as a presidential candidate, claiming it'll be his third term through his "beautiful, smartest son. He'll lead like no one else. Because who raises winners? I do"
If he dies during his 2024-2028 term, JD Vance would likely not rock the boat too much, while endorsing himself or one of Trump's kids if Trump has already anointed one as his candidate.
Either way, during the republican term (2024-2028) laws aligning themselves with Project 2025 would probably continue to be implemented, with only a potential slowdown or halt happening in case of Vance being forced to take the position.
With the Energy bills set into law, America will continue to use degrading energy production facilities as much of the world continues to build Solar and wind, likely leading to power costs soaring as the decreasing prices on clean energy continue to decrease, even if asymptotically (decreasing over time in gains but never reaching 0)
This, together with America's AI bubble likely bursting in at least 2026, maybe 2027, would lead to an economic recession as the reindustrialisation of the US fails to appear, leading to further schism between the left and right of the political spectrum.
I would imagine the year 2029 will likely already be a year where the country is either in civil war or has fully begun having a political breakdown, where states create power blocks against one another and stop accepting federal authority. Which would help the case for introducing Trump's third term or his kid's appointment as "A necessary action to keep stability by continuing the function of the federal government in spite of the political gridlock"
(continuing for other countries in the next post)
