After a short while of thinking, analyzing the encounter with a critical eye - the only one you have anyway - and how it makes you feel all around, you finally come to a conclusion... a sad one, for there's nothing to be proud of. Your perfomance in the fight sucked balls, and that's the plain truth. You almost got yourself killed and were basically bailed out by Anu. Sure, you DID banish a demon, which is cool and all... but you did it with the Light of Anu, not with your own hands. And the fact you got so much help to achieve this spoils your triumph badly.
The patient Daitza still awaits your answer, so you'll speak your mind with your confident, mate and friend. “Honestly? I'm not very satisfied."
"Whaaat?" As expected, she tilts her head and gives you a puzzled look. "Why not?"
"I mean, why would I be?" You sigh. "I barely beat the demon, and I got a good beating myself. If it wasn't for Anu’s help, Murdock's and yours, things would’ve gone in a completely different way… and that makes me worried. Worried about not being strong enough to deal with those monsters myself."
Datz listens to you in silence, nodding with a serious look. Once you finish venting out, she closes her eyes, opens them after a few seconds and meets your gaze with an empathetic smile, “Hey, it’s nice you don’t want to rely on the dwarves' god to kill demons… and you’re right, we *should* be able to teach them a lesson by ourselves. Without relying on any deity's boons." She takes a step towards you and taps your shoulder. "That's the ideal we must reach, Hyeny... and the sooner we begin our training, the sooner we can reach it."
“Right..." You nod, thinking on her words. "I almost forgot I’ve got this potential to grow strong real fast. Heh! I can’t wait to start lifting and see how far I can go.”
“You’ll go very far, my dear goofball. I just know!" She leans in closer, staring you directly in the eye to make sure you pay attention to her. "Now, listen... you STILL came face-to-face with one of those monstrosities and LIVED to tell the tale. That's impressive, no matter how you look at it. Anu gave you a hand in there, sure… but you did all the heavy lifting, so be proud of yourself!" She playfully punches you in the chest. "You deserve it!”
"Yeah... I guess I did!" You nod and smile, relieved by her support. "Thanks, Datz. You always cheer me up.”
“Don’t thank me. If you’re happy, I’m happy!”
What Daitza says is true. You did a job good back there, regardless of all the external aid you received. Now, this doesn't mean you wouldn't like to be more independent and stop relying so much on Anu's boons... but those things will come in due time, when you finally get the time to train properly and develop this body of yours. Gnolrek must meet his demise at your hands because YOU were strong enough to defeat him, not because Anu gave you a boost!
