>>5663820>>5663821The hippogriff is fast, especially charging in leaps and bounds down the hill. The full transformation from false-man to Dragonborn and finally to <DragonSHAPE> is a process measure sin minutes, but the paladin prince is upon you in seconds—faster even than Olu the Archer can loose an arrow, for the charge is swift enough to force him to re-aim.
>1 vs. 10Unfortunately, the Paladin prince’s aim is true. His sword opens your side, splitting your fine attire and sending you tumbling sideways. Your half-formed wings crunch and break away on impact with the ground, turning to ash as you roll to your feet; the transformation is lost, and must be begun anew. With the Red Dragon King’s spirit slumbering within you, you have more than enough magical energy to affect the change… But do you have time? Already, the damned Paladin is charging again, raising his sword above his head as it begins to crackle with that heavenly electricity again! You take up a defensive position, but your legs are wobbly, and your ribs bruised and skin lacerated by the first strike; the pain distracts you, and your saddle-addled legs yet wobble.
>20 & 17 vs. 11But THAT is when Olu the Archer proves his worth once more. As when you faced down the Great Devourer together over a year-and-a-half hence, his archery proves your salvation: standing tall upon the hill, and shouting a Reptilian curse upon the man with crazed glee, he looses not one arrow, but TWO! Both gleam with the hidden quasi-colours of magical energy, enchanted with the magic to ensure a <True Strike> and to <Inflict Wounds, Greater> than would normally be inflicted. Between this and the Archers own aim, the impractical double-arrow attack hits both man AND beast, and with devastating results for both.
