“Well then I have learned quite a lot from that.” TalOS declared as he looked towards the far end of the room, “AL4N, I know you have not taken in Mjorn but what about you Vadar?”
The Astartes looked confused for a moment, “I have not. My brothers who were with the Wolfen Venrika have not taken part in their drink.”
“I take it they suffered from their barbarity problem?”
The Astartes gave a solemn nod to those words to which TalOS could only chuckle. Indeed while TalOS and Russ were fine together it did not mean TalOS was going to work well with him during battle.
“But what about before your time as an Astartes?”
“I do not remember. Astartes Ascension Processing is built to wipe whatever was in the man before he became one of the Emperor’s Legionnaires.” Was the firm declaration that the Astartes gave to his Primarch. It was simple, and while it made sense to TalOS it was also saddening.
“I do wonder how surefire that part of the process was.” TalOS told his son as a Servitor came into the room with a large barrel, “During my time with the Space Wolves I drank with my brother Mjorn. This is my personal Mjorn mix created from both samples and my own processes. It does not yet match the potency of my brother’s batch but I don’t think it needs to.”
Upon those words the Servitor placed the barrel in front of TalOS. With a movement under his cloak a massive metal arm came out and clipped the metal band that was holding the barrel together with a simple twist of its fingers. As that hand did that another hand had grabbed the wooden top that TalOS had installed to move it to the side.
TalOS then took from the Servitor three metal mugs, each of them showing a prominent cog upon them. The Primarch took a moment to examine the item that he had commissioned sometime ago. While simple the engraving was nonetheless recognizable to be made by the hands of a Master Artisan of the Machine Cult.
“This drink is somewhat of a test that I wanted us to partake in. I have found that the amounts of alcohol are high enough to bring death upon a mortal man. That however is expected as the Mjorn will do the same. Instead I am testing if it induces nearly as great a drunkenness and has actual taste.”
With those words TalOS dunked one of the mugs into the drink and lifted it. Such a simple act allowed the bubbling substance to drain off the side of the mug in a calm light of the nearby Psi-Candle. With firmness TalOS placed the drink in front of Vadar.
“I’ll give you the first drink.” The Primarch announced as he leaned back into his chair.
