With shouts and hollers, the Rats pour from their warehouse. Blocking that door has forced them to seek alternative means of escaping the building, and look, they're out of breath and confused. Good thinking Lago. And now the building is empty too, so we'll face no more from the direction!

The slugs rats slug it out and I refuse to dignify their punching and grunting with florid descriptions, okay? It's just... it's just violence. There's no poetry here. Look, one of them clocks Fourth Dusk and Fourth Dusk reacts with a counter-block and takes a step back and that's that.
Amicus takes a ringsider ringer to helmet and shrugs it off!
Up top, Riv is subject to a fusillade of fierce fist-- no, no *said* no poetry. He gets punched. Okay? Riv gets punched. And it's a hard one too.
Mock jumps off of a ledge, eyes closed, back to the enemy, and performs the MOTHDIVER SUPREME, an elbow drop so dangerous we're not supposed to be as enthused with it as we are (but it does look *glorious*). Unfortunately his target is unconscious on the ground and he slams into the bricks instead of a resisting human, which hurts something fierce.

Riv! Mock!
You've been WOUNDED! You took damage in excess of your Health Resistance, and now the pain is coming for you, the bones are bruised, the skin is broken. this kind of stuff is *real* damage - note the X in your Health Circles. You take -1 to every skill you try when you're Wounded because of the sheer *pain*
( boxers can... grit their teeth with 1 AP and ignore all this )
If you take more Wounds, the pain gets worse - and eventually you have to roll to stay on your feet. That's what's knocking out all these RATS, they're taking severe punishment and dropping like flies.
You can take a major 3 ap action to *roll Focus* and *power through*. If you succeed, you can ignore some wound penalties until something sets them off again.
Medical attention is needed to fix your wounds. And that sort of thing simply never happens during a brawl. Sorry Maskmates, those wounds are here to stay, but at least you can power through the pain and they won't penalize you so much.
Some TYPES of wounds change things a little. But since nothing exciting happened, no one but that rat (we all know who) is down an arm. Yet.
Enough wounds... kill you. But you gotta suffer at least enough that it equals your base health score (which for most fierce maskmates is 12), so you've got some ways to go before you'll join the Quiet Choir.
You'll likely tap out long, long before something sends you off to the final place for fierce fighters.

While we're on the harrowing subject, that display Klaunn made with the ... bones... of the.. arm... - it made the nearby Rats shudder in FEAR and TERROR - that's the **BLACK** X on their HUD. TERROR, much like Wounds, add -1 to everything someone does. You can see why it's useful to inflict it
