<span class="mu-r">“I can either tell you where it is and how to shut it down, or you can bring me there directly, and I can do it myself.”</span> Dmitri offered. <span class="mu-r">“The only other important thing that must be decided is at which point you will be disabling the program.”</span>
Ah. You were beginning to see why he was in such a rush. The longer you waited, the smaller his window of opportunity became. If you concluded negotiations early, then that would allow him more wiggle room to propose that you hand him over to the “proper authorities” before he gives you the information regarding the program. However, if you made him wait a bit, then you might be able to get him to give you the info without even releasing him.
You could even call it a sign of “goodwill” with the intention of opening up negotiations for real. That way, you might be able to squeeze a little more out of him.
Although…if you did that, then he might feel a little less inclined to help you clean up his own mess. If he was really telling the truth, then there was a possibility that the two of you could cover up this whole event by misleading anyone who decided to look into it.
