Almost all actions resolve as 3d6 against effective targets, lower is better, higher is worse. Your basic proficiency with most tasks is 10, due to a variety of training and coursework, but Traits nudge that up with their value, as does tools, techniques and other things.
You get One standard action a turn, unless something nefarious is going on. But then, nefarious is sort of your byline, so sometimes it does get exotic around here.
Agility is spent to move, poke about, prod, any small scale work you don't think calls for much rolling or advanced application of your talents.
