Finally, after a long silence the Duke spoke, “I see. In truth it explains a lot of what happened across everything we have witnessed. By your actions the Beastmen that lied underneath the city had thrown themselves above ground in a terror frenzy. Yet… we did not know.” There was hesitance within the voice of the Duke as he gave the rebuttal to all that they spoke.
“With regards Guilon,” Adok bellowed as he spoke, “Even us Dwarfs find these Skaven Settlements only when they are of great number. They are but the rats in the hovel of cities. Where you have seen one there are thousands.”
“Such would be my understanding of these… unique Beastmen as you claim it to be. But Runesmith Adok I ask that you bear with me as I understand that these rats are not just Beastmen but a race capable of creating beasts from Hell.” The Duke gave back.
There was a silence there as such words easily silenced them. It was going to be impossible for them to ask that the Duke head down and take a look at the carnage. It would require an entire hold of Dwarfs to excavate. At least that is what Adok had told the Knight.
“Lucian.” The Duke declared the name of the Knight who was within his court, “I wish to speak to you. I give you permission to remove your helm and rise.”
Doing as he was asked, Lucian removed his helm for the first time since leaving the Skaven Under-City.
