>>6246678You raise up your hood again and just nod, walking off with Basilea. “Okay what the hell was that about?” you ask her in a quiet voice.
“I have few answers. Maybe you just hit the right profile and the overly eager goon wanted his chump change back.” she replies. Basilea glances down at you again though, letting out a soft, “Hrmn…”
“What? …Is it the perfume?” Ugh, you try a new brand once and demons start complaining about-
“I don’t think that’s what he meant by ‘stench.’ While few are gifted with the ability to sense energy, fewer still even bothering to hone it, it’s not unheard of to find some rare individuals with a very vague grasp on the ability. Usually noting it through other senses, like sound, or smell…” She rubs her chin. “Perhaps another mortal was responsible? But horns and a different hair color…”
“...Huh. Okay that is a bit weird.” Your goggles ping. “Gonna file that away for later. Rozriz is on the move.”
You all end up exiting the city limits, continuing on a path for a short while as you start to head toward a wide, dark chasm in the distance. Finally far enough that everyone can start to pick up speed, you do your best to move quickly even in the thick, dense, and kinda stinky air. You and Basilea have to duck out of the way of another patrol, heading into a cave for a brief time. Loud footsteps echo through it as you wait out the patrol, with you noticing a… fairly weak power approaching, turning to see a minotaur-like demon snarling down at you.
“You who dare enter my lair, do you have any idea who-?!”
“Shhhh!” you shush it nonchalantly.
The minotaur blinks. “Do… do you dare?! I will have you-!”
You leap up, grab the monster by the horn. The minotaur struggles against your grip fruitlessly, and you then force it to look at the soldiers outside. “Either you keep quiet, or they find you. Do you want that?”
It gulps, either frightened upon realizing you’re significantly stronger than it, or by the presence of the demon realm soldiers in the area. Or perhaps both. Both is likely. Weakly, the monster meeps out a “Yes’m.”
“You’re lucky she got to you first.” Basilea threatens. “I would have knocked you unconscious and thrown you at them as a distraction.” That gets the monster to whimper.
